psychometric profiling

How is this candidate most likely to behave if appointed?
What motivates and drives this person?
Why do people approach their responsibilities in the ways that they do?

To understand ‘Why’ candidates or colleagues approach things in the ways they do and make the choices they make is the key to genuinely understanding them and appreciating how they are likely to respond to new situations.

An Occupational Psychologist’s skilled interpretation of a leading personality profiling questionnaire and an in-depth feedback discussion with each respondent is the most effective means of finding out what underlies performance.

A profile or report alone can only tell so much about someone, but without a discussion to fully validate and explore the results, it cannot be relied upon. Profiling, in combination with feedback discussions are vital in understanding candidates’ underlying preferences, tendencies and ‘default’ approaches to, for example:

      • Leading other
      • Working with and through others
      • Influencing others (selling, negotiating, presenting)
      • Decision-making
      • Relating to personal and organisational change
      • Achievement of immediate and long-term objectives
      • Dealing with pressure
      • Self-motivation

Profiling is most commonly used to gauge likely capability and also fit with potential situations and existing teams and cultures. With a feedback discussion it can also help to explore specific areas of concern. It can be the catalyst to explore emotional intelligence, or the possible sources of ongoing stress.

Working with teams, our psychologists can also use personality profiling as a basis of exploring any issues with communication or understanding that may be barriers to co-operation or optimal performance.

Before...

  • Identification of competencies or issues to be closely explored, in close consultation with clients.
  • On-line administration of leading personality profiling questionnaire. Our BPS level A and B qualified Occupational Psychologists select from a range of professionally approved questionnaires which give high levels of detail and which are directly relevant to performance at work and identified competencies.

...During...

  • Skilled interpretation of personality profiles and in-depth feedback sessions for respondents with our Psychologists. Sessions explore respondents’ personal preferences and deepen our understanding of the likely impact of these traits on performance and ‘fit’ with others.

...and After

  • Feedback to client of the respondent’s strengths, potential limitations and advice on how to get the best from them. This can take the form of a full report or an executive summary, as required.
